Plagiarism Tutorial: The Crime of Intellectual Kidnapping

Welcome to the SDSU Library plagiarism tutorial, an educational web site designed to help improve your understanding of plagiarism, paraphrasing, and citing sources.

Information for SDSU Instructors

Dear SDSU Instructors,

NEW! There is no longer a need to register your course for a tutorial.

Thank you for your interest in the Library’s online information literacy tutorial, "Plagiarism: The Crime of Intellectual Kidnapping."  This is a self-directed, 30-minute tutorial that teaches students about plagiarism, paraphrasing, and citing sources. The quiz helps them determine their ability to recognize and avoid plagiarism.

Students take this tutorial outside of class time and receive a score on screen that they can print or download and submit to you as proof of completion. We think that this is a good supplement to any library hands-on visits you have scheduled. View the tutorial at http://library.sdsu.edu/guides/tutorial.php?id=28

Quiz System and Blackboard

Unfortunately, the current quiz system does not communicate with the Blackboard Gradebook. If credit is required, students can either print or download their quiz results to submit to you or upload as a Blackboard assignment.

As always, we encourage you to discuss this and other library resources with your library subject specialist (http://library.sdsu.edu/people/biblist.php).
