The Reference Desk is located on the first floor of the Library Addition and is staffed by librarians and library assistants who can help you with all types of questions including locating articles and books, setting up a library PIN, and ordering materials not held by SDSU.  We can assist in the selection of resources both in print and electronic formats, and can help you use these tools effectively and efficiently.  You can also consult the Research page, which has more information on finding resources and evaluating information. Reference Desk hours are listed on the library's home page and on the hours calendar.

We can help you in person, by phone, by text, by 24/7 online chat, or by skype (from the workstation on the 4th floor of Love Library).  You can also set up an appointment with a librarian specializing in your subject area

The Reference Collection consists of materials such as encyclopedias and dictionaries that contain background and factual information.  Many items in this collection can be borrowed for three days. Find items in this collection by limiting to "Reference" in the advanced search of the library catalog.
