Library Award Winners
2017 Student Research Symposium
The impact of library resources on students' research was obvious in the posters and oral presentations in the 10th annual student research showcase. We are proud to celebrate all the participants - more than 450 students - in this vibrant exploration of ideas.
Here's a special shout-out to the 2017 recipients of the Library Awards for their oral presentations:
- Andrea Alvarado: "The GenX Files: The Search for Masculinity in 1990s America."
- Anni Perheentupa Mackey: "The Story Seems to Wear the Stamp of Truth: Verisimilitude, Science Fiction, and H. Rider Haggard's She."
- Sim Quinzon: "Specific Purpose English Communication System for Seniors: A Follow-Up Study with Native Speakers of Somali."
- Dechao Zhu: "Structural Bioinformatic Analysis of Phage Capsid Proteins as Environmental Indicator."
Little known SRS factoid: over 120 posters were printed for SRS participants in the library's Copy Services in the week prior to the symposium.
