Meet Anna and Pam
For the past two years, Anna and Pam, one a special collections librarian and the other a subject librarian for the comic arts, have been co-directing a major initiative to organize and catalog the Library’s Comic Arts Collection and promote its use across the curriculum.
There's a Comic for That!
Anna is Assistant Head of the Library’s Special Collections & University Archives department, where one of her many roles is managing a massive collection of speculative fiction and popular arts, including more than 30,000 comics in all genres. Along with Pam, Anna is working hard to make these comics available to students as quickly as possible.
A Comics Sabbatical
Pam will be on sabbatical in spring to work on her project, “Using Comics in the Higher Education Curriculum: A Guide to Themes and Ideologies.” She will be researching and organizing comics to create a web guide for faculty, librarians and students. The guide will make comics more accessible for use in the college classroom and she hopes it will serve as a starting point for student research.
