Electronic Course Reserves

In summer 2010, SDSU Library and Information Access will no longer offer Electronic Course Reserve Services. Faculty members wishing to provide supplemental readings for their courses will be able to freely link to electronic resources held by the library, post scanned copies of articles and chapters in their courses on Blackboard (with due observance of copyright restrictions), and develop course packs through Montezuma Publishing.

Four Tips to Get You Started

1) Use the tabs in this guide for instructions on linking to library resources from your course on Blackboard. The 'Articles' tab gives instructions for how to link to an individual journal article if the the library has full-text access to that article. Contact your subject librarian if you need more help.

2) Visit the Faculty Instructional Technology Center for help scanning book chapters to create accessible PDF documents to upload into your courses on Blackboard. Always remember to observe copyright restrictions.

3) Work with Montezuma Publishing to develop course packs and to attain copyright permission when needed.

4) Understand your rights and responsibilities related copyright.
