Acceptance/Rejection Rates

Locating acceptance/rejection rates for individual journals can be difficult.  If the resources listed on the "Acceptance/Rejection Rates" tab do not provide the information, try the following:

  • Check the “information for authors” area of the print journal or on the home page for the journal.
  • Some societies publish acceptance/rejection rates for their journals on their home page.
  • Contact the editor of the journal to see if s/he will share the acceptance/rejection rate.  Use the resources listed on the "Directories" tab to locate contact information for your journal.

It may be possible to locate acceptance/rejection rates for journals within a particular discipline.

Try a Google search using this strategy: “acceptance rate" OR "rejection rate" AND your discipline

Example:  "acceptance rate" OR "rejection rate" AND chemistry

Note:  Use the quotation marks and capitalize OR and AND.
