Many Textbooks Are Available
Many textbooks and other course materials are available on reserve for 2 or 4 hour checkout. They can be found on the Course Reserves page, listed by course name or instructor. Ask for the textbook at the circulation desk and be sure to have the title and call number handy. Plus your RedID so you can check the book out.
You can also check OneSearch to search the library’s holdings by title or author name of the textbook, in case we have the book but it's not on reserve. The library is not likely to have the most recent edition of your textbook as academic libraries in the U.S. typically don't purchase textbooks.
Not finding your book? While you're still in OneSearch, login with your SDSUid and click the Library Catalog (CSU) button. You can request books from other CSU libraries thru our CSU+ service. Or from other San Diego libraries through Circuit.
Not finding the book in CSU+? Search WorldCat and request the book through interlibrary loan. This usually takes a couple of weeks, so it's great if you can plan ahead.
Other Options for Getting Your Textbook
Remember, the SDSU bookstore sells textbooks and has options for renting copies of textbooks to students. You can also buy electronic copies of textbooks through the SDSU bookstore. Contact the bookstore for more information.
