Library Orientation Session
Introduction to Library Research
The Introduction to Library Research session includes a brief tour of the Library followed by a hands-on introduction to library services & library research. We recommend scheduling this session near the beginning of the semester, however it can be scheduled at any time classes are in session.
Learning Outcomes:
- Locate the main service points in the library and on the library website
- Identify the main concept(s) of a research question and think of effective search terms
- Articulate the pros and cons of using Google and OneSearch
- Use OneSearch advanced search (Boolean, filters) to narrow and focus searches
