Website Hosting
The Library provides web hosting for Academic Affairs departments, faculty, and academic student organizations on the RohanCP server. Website hosting is also available from the Information Technology Division using the Omni CMS content management system.
RohanCP provides cPanel, a control panel designed to simplify web hosting, allowing website owners control of various aspects of website and server administration through a web browser. Websites hosted on RohanCP require the use of the campus VPN for file transfers and administration from off campus.
Web Hosting Guidelines
Accessibility
It is the responsibility of the website owner to ensure their website meets SDSU Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) requirements. The Library reserves the right to deactivate a website that does not meet SDSU accessibility standards. To assist website owners with checking the level of their website's accessibility, all Library hosted websites are automatically enrolled in the campus' SiteImprove accessibility scanning platform.
Information Security
It is the responsibility of the website owner to follow CSU and SDSU Information Security Policies and Practices. The Library reserves the right to deactivate a website that does not meet CSU and SDSU Information Security standards. Library hosted websites must not collect or store credit card or any type of protected data. The Library does not assume responsibility for securing this information.
The campus VPN, or Virtual Private Network, must be used when off campus to update your website. Contact your department for info on installing and using the campus GlobalProtect VPN. The VPN extends the campus network to your computer, providing secure access to SDSU computer systems as if you where on campus.
Campus Branding
SDSU websites should follow campus branding and logo usage. Please see the SDSU Brand Guidelines for details.
